Bonnie S. Schutz, 62, passed away on July 1, 2026, at Springfield Memorial Hospital, surrounded by the love of her family.

Bonnie was born on October 7, 1963, in Effingham, Illinois, to Kenneth and Marcella “Sally” (Kinkelaar) Weber.

She graduated from Teutopolis High School in 1981. Bonnie spent her early career fulfilling sectorial duties. Bonnie later became the Dance Coach at Illinois College and North Greene High School. Her last job before retirement was at the North Greene Unit Office as the payroll and benefits coordinator.

On September 5, 2002, Bonnie married the love of her life, Bob Schutz. Together they built a life centered on family, faith, and creating a home filled with love. After marrying Bob, she devoted herself to being a loving stay-at-home wife and mother, caring for her family with unwavering love and dedication.

She is survived by her devoted husband, Bob Schutz; their children, Jake (Amy) Schutz, Addi (fiancée Josh) Schutz, Ashley (Logan) Griffin, and Blane (Madison) Schutz; her cherished grandchildren, Emmett, Emma, Jackson, Scarlett, Ayla, Pierce, Vivianne, Stone, Gwendolyn, Ridge, LeAann, and Jackson who were the greatest joy of her life; her brother, Ron (Evelyn) Weber of Collinsville; her sister, Nancy (Doug) Deters of Sigel; her sister-in-law, Jan Weber of Bloomington; and many beloved nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Kenneth and Marcella “Sally” Weber; her brother, Larry Weber; her infant sister, Debbie Weber; and her niece, Holly Deters.

Bonnie found her greatest happiness in caring for the people she loved. She treasured every moment spent with her grandchildren, whether attending their activities, spoiling them, or simply enjoying time together. She took great pride in caring for Bob and making their home a welcoming place for family and friends.

She loved being outdoors, traveling with Bob to auctions, making treasured trips together to Branson, and spending evenings playing cards with their friends, where there was always plenty of laughter and friendly competition. In recent years, Bonnie found a wonderful community through the Greene Sneakers workout group. She looked forward not only to the workouts but also to the friendships, encouragement, and connection she found there.

Those who knew Bonnie will remember her for her caring heart, selfless spirit, and feisty personality. She loved fiercely, spoke her mind, and was never afraid to stand up for the people she loved. Her kindness, strength, and unwavering devotion to her family touched countless lives.

Bonnie’s greatest legacy is the family she so faithfully loved and nurtured. Though she will be deeply missed, the love she gave so freely and the memories she created will live on in the hearts of all who were blessed to know her.
