Mark A. Schuch, age 73, of Newton, Illinois, passed away at 6:00 AM – Friday, April 10, 2026, at his home.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 12:30 PM – Tuesday, April 14, 2026, at Saint Thomas the Apostle Catholic Church in Newton, Illinois, with Father Tomy Philip celebrating mass. The burial will be in Old St. Peter Cemetery in Newton, Illinois. A visitation for family and friends will be held 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the Meyer Funeral Home in Newton, Illinois. Mark was born on October 26, 1952, in Newton, Illinois, the son of John and Bernadine E. (Rubsam) Schuch, Jr. He graduated from Newton Community High School, Class of 1970. Upon graduation, he attended an automotive repair training program, this sparked a lifelong career as a dedicated mechanic of McClane Motors for over 35 years. He was a member of St. Thomas the Apostle Catholic Church in Newton. Mark was an avid outdoorsman and was a member of the Crooked Creek Rebels where he showcased his marksmanship with black powder reenactments.
Mark is survived by: Siblings- Joan Casteel of Newton, Illinois; Linda Schuch of New Albany, Indiana; Ray (Jeanne) Schuch of Newton, Illinois and Joe (Barbara) Schuch of Newton, Illinois.
Mark was preceded in death by his parents, brother Jim (Linda) Schuch, Bob Schuch, brother-in-law Rick Casteel and nephew David Schuch.
