Franklin “Frank” Kuhn Jr., age 84, of Greenup, IL passed away at home surrounded by his family on March 2, 2026.

Per Frank’s wishes, cremation rites were accorded. There will be a memorial visitation held from 5:00 to 7:00 pm on Friday March 6, 2026, at the Barkley Funeral Chapel in Greenup.

Frank was born on January 1, 1942, to Lowell and Merle (Brandenburg) Kuhn, in Peoria, IL. He married Beverly “Pinky” Shields on November 11, 1960. He spent the past eight decades as a citizen of Greenup, IL, including 19 years as the owner and operator of True Value Hardware with his wife. As a dedicated member of the community, he also served two full terms as Greenup Township Road Commissioner and was a longtime leader of his son’s Boy Scouts of America Troupe. Frank was an avid outdoorsman and found joy in training horses, playing golf, and tending to an enormous strawberry patch in his garden.

Frank is survived by his wife of 65 years, Beverly “Pinky”; his daughter Beth; son Brent (Peggy) Kuhn; grandchildren Alex, Kate, and Meghan; great-grandchildren Tucker, Willa, McKynna, Rayna, Chloe, Ryan, and Kylie; and brothers Theron (Peggy) Kuhn and Don Kuhn.

He was preceded in death by his parents, brother Dick Kuhn, and two sisters Bonnie Kay Carlen and Karen Mitchell.

His laughter and mischievous antics will be deeply missed by all.
