Steven P. Daugherty, 57, of Altamont, died at 11:56 p.m. Thursday, February 19, 2026 at his home with his family by his side.
According to Steve’s wishes there will be no services. Memorials may be made to the donor’s choice. Gieseking Funeral Home, Altamont, is assisting the family with arrangements.
Steve was born on Saturday, May 4, 1968 in St. Petersburg, Florida and adopted by Leonard Glenn and Wilma Jane (Hawn) Daugherty. He married Tamara Edwards on March 28, 2009. Steve was a 1987 graduate of Altamont Community High School. He was retired from Clarkson’s Furniture and Summit Township.
He is survived by: his wife, Tamara of Altamont; mother, Wilma of Altamont; son, Matthew (Bayli) Ashley of Beecher City; daughters, Amanda Ashley of St. Louis and Audra Daugherty of Altamont; brothers, Leonard (Debi) Daugherty of Pooler, GA and Richard (Tina) Daugherty of Abbeville, AL; sisters, Kathy (Jeff) Winstead of Ridgeland, MS and Susan Daugherty of Chico, TX; sister-in-law, Lori (Kevin) Schaal of Springfield; mother and father-in-law, Gary and Joy Edwards of Altamont; four grandchildren, Sam Ashley, Kolbi Swinehart, Asa Adank, and Rowan Pierce.
He was preceded in death by: his father and brother, Ernie and wife Gayle Daugherty.
