Dustin James Ordner, 49, of Phoenix, Arizona, formerly of Teutopolis, Illinois, passed away on January 28, 2026. He was born on October 18, 1976, in Effingham, IL, to Jim and Jeanne Ordner.
Dustin lived courageously, building a vast circle of friendships that spanned the world. He collected memories and stories rather than standing still, embracing adventure, travel, music, and new experiences with an open heart and an open mind. Never afraid to try something new, he approached life on his own terms. “Dust” was one of a kind, handsome, magnetic, and unforgettable, with a smile that could light up a room and a presence people were naturally drawn to. His curiosity, warmth, and zest for life left a lasting impression on everyone fortunate enough to know him.
Music was woven into every part of Dustin’s life. A gifted guitarist, he shared his soul through his music, and his sound and spirit will live on in the hearts of all who heard it.
Family was everything to Dustin. No matter how far his travels took him or where he lived, home and his roots always held a special place in his heart.
Recently, Dustin discovered a love for couples country dancing, a passion he shared with his dear friend and honorary aunt, Deb Croft. Dancing brought him pure joy and became a deeply meaningful outlet for expression and connection.
Dustin is survived by his parents, Jim and Jeanne Ordner; his sisters Shannon Ordner (Randy Huber) of Teutopolis and Jaime Ordner (Bloemer) of Teutopolis; his brother Jacob Ordner (Kirsten) of Colorado; his nieces and nephews Gavin, Sydnee and Landon Huber, Lucy, Lane and Lance Bloemer, and Hutch Ordner; and his honorary sister Ginny Rae (Marcus Austin) of Florida, who shared a lifelong bond of friendship and family with Dustin. He is also survived by many aunts, uncles, cousins, and extended family who loved him dearly.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents John and Mary Ordner, Pat and Doris Niemeyer, and his niece Delaney.
Dustin’s absence leaves a profound emptiness in the hearts of those who loved him, but his free spirit, devotion to family, and love of music and life will be remembered always.
A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date. Details will be announced when arrangements are finalized. Online condolences may be expressed at www.bauerfh.com.
