Rosemary Percival, 93, of Effingham, IL, passed away on Friday, January 23, 2026, at her home.
Memorial services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, January 30, 2026 at Johnson Funeral Home in Effingham. Burial will be in Watson Cemetery in Watson, IL. Visitation will be held from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. on Friday, January 30, 2026 prior to the service at the funeral home.

Rosemary was born on August 23, 1932, the daughter of Glenn and Ella Maude Smith. She married James F. “Frank” Percival on January 31, 1952 and were married for 65 years before his death in 2017. Rosemary was secretary for the First Christian Church of Effingham for 28 years under Rev. Beebe. She cherished traveling with her husband Frank in tours all over the U.S. and making the best Easter egg and scavenger hunts for her granddaughters. After she retired from the church, she was secretary for the Salvation Army. Later on she was a consistent volunteer at The Cross and enjoyed her meet ups with The Sunshine Girls. Rosemary was a loving and fierce wife, mother, grandmother, and friend.
Rosemary is survived by her granddaughters, Stefanie Percival (significant other Josh) and Jamie Hildebrand (husband Luke); great-grandsons Denver and Lincoln Hildebrand; and daughter-in-law, Cynthia Green Percival.
Rosemary will join her parents; husband, Frank; and sons, James and Steven at home with the Lord.
