Juanita was born on April 18, 1925 in Jefferson City, MO, the daughter of Dr. Carl and Sylvia Williams. The family later moved to Effingham where she graduated high school and met Ivan as a teenager at the First Church of God. She married Ivan Boggs on June 24, 1944 in Corning, AR. Together they shared 68 years of marriage, having 3 children. He preceded her in death on January 12, 2012.
With Juanita’s love of kids, teaching was her career from the beginning. Starting in a one-room schoolhouse to teaching at various Unit 40 schools, Juanita dedicated over 40 years of service to children in the Effingham area. After retirement, she helped at Treehouse Day Care & Preschool in Effingham. Juanita was a kindhearted person who loved to sing gospel music and go to church on Sundays. She also had a passion for shopping, which was supported by her great sense of fashion.
Juanita is survived by her daughters, Wanda (Bob) Reardon and Linda (Mick) Poe; daughter-in-law, Wanda Boggs; 8 grandchildren, Kim (Ken) Huss, Michelle (Rob) Mihlbachler, Tracy Kitchens, Troy Poe (Christi Fox), Tracey Robison (Raf Palma), Ryan (Joan) Reardon, Dustin (Alysa) Reardon, Brent Reardon (Lisa Pruemer); 12 great-grandchildren; and 12 great-great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Ivan; son, Donald Boggs.
