Angela A. “Angie” Butler, age 67, of Newton, Illinois, passed away at 2:04 AM – Monday, January 12, 2026, at HSHS Saint Anthony’s Memorial Hospital in Effingham, Illinois.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM- Tuesday, January 20, 2026, at the Meyer Funeral Home in Newton, Illinois, with Pastor Michael Seidenstricker officiating. The burial will be in the Mound Cemetery east of Willow Hill, Illinois. In loving memory of Angela, memorials may be made to the Meyer Funeral Home. Angela A. better known as “Angie” was born on October 29, 1958, in Olney, Illinois, the daughter of Howard and Violet (Utley) French. She married Thomas Butler on January 1, 2000. She was a member of the Good Shepherd Lutheran Church.
Angie enjoyed digging in the dirt whether it was gardening or planting flowers. She also had a passion for rescuing stray cats and raising kittens like her own kids. Angie had much love to give and took care of anyone who needed it.
Angela is survived by-
Children – Martin Butler of Dieterich, Illinois; Quincy Butler (Allison Koester) of Newton, Illinois; and Samantha King (Daniel Bales) of Shumway, Illinois
Grandchildren – Blaykli Butler, Caleigh Butler, Joey Butler, Brayden Fewkes, and Jaylen Fewkes
Brother – Tony (Bonita) French of Olney, Illinois
Angie was preceded in death by her parents, stepfather Carl Newlin, sister Kitty Lewis and brother Gregory Dean French.
