Sandra S. “Sandy” Mulvey Pinter age 77, of Champaign, Illinois passed away Sunday, January 4, 2026, at the Newton Care Center, Newton, Illinois.

Graveside services will be held at 12:15 p.m. Friday, January 9, 2026, at West Lawn Memorial Park Cemetery, Newton with interment to follow. Visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. until 12 noon, Friday, January 9, 2026, at the Crain Funeral Home, Newton.

Sandy was born on December 29, 1948, in Olney, Illinois, the daughter of Woodrow W. and Helen (Dale) Mulvey. A graduate of Newton Community High School, Sandy earned her bachelor’s degree from Purdue University. For over twenty years, she worked in management for A.T.& T. in New Jersey. Following her retirement, Sandy returned to Illinois. From an early age, Sandy’s life was built around church and her faith. In her younger years, she attended the Falmouth United Methodist Church. She was baptized at McCord Lake near Newton. During her time in New Jersey, church was still a core part of her life. Sandy attended the Union Village United Methodist Church, where she was actively involved in church outreach, especially programs to reach the homeless. Sandy attended the Grace United Methodist Church in Newton, later joining the First United Methodist Church in Champaign. Sandy was a volunteer at heart. She donated her time to the Carle Hospital Auxiliary and to various children’s programs in the church and community. She loved caring for family, friends and those in need.

Sandy will be loved and remembered by her son Garrett Pinter, girlfriend Danielle of Effingham, Illinois; her grandchild to be welcomed in June; siblings, Jack Mulvey, wife Judy of Liberty, MO, Paul Mulvey, wife Celia of Newton, Ron Mulvey, wife Joan of Newton, Betty Ganley of Decatur, Barbara Mitchell of Champaign, Sharon Romack of Newton; sisters-in-law, Barbara Ann Mulvey Klier of Newton, Peg Mulvey of Effingham, Diane Mulvey of Newton, and Gerri Brovont of Otterbein, IN; many nieces and nephews and dear friends Dee and Bev.

She was preceded in death by her parents, brothers, Delano Mulvey, Larry Mulvey, Mike Mulvey and Bill Mulvey, infant sister Rosemary Katherine Mulvey and brothers-in-law, Neil Ganley, Larry Mitchell and Keith Romack.

Memorial donations in honor of Sandy may be made to the Falmouth United Methodist Church, Falmouth, Illinois.
