Anna Marie Miller, age 82, of Columbus, Ohio, passed away on Saturday, December 10, 2025, in Columbus, Ohio.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 AM – Thursday, December 18, 2025, at Saint Thomas Catholic Church in Newton, Illinois, with Father Dean Probst celebrating mass.   Visitation will be held from 9:30-10:00 AM at the church.   Burial will be in the New Saint Peter Cemetery near Newton, Illinois.

Anna Marie was born on December 20, 1942, in El Paso, Texas, the daughter of Lars and Celina C’de Baca-Strand.  She was the first grandchild born into a large traditional New Mexican family.  Because of this, she held a special place in the family and was tasked with much responsibility.  Anna Marie was adored by her grandparents and looked up to and revered by all her siblings and cousins to follow.  She watched over and encouraged all of them.  A slightly raised eyebrow could get them all to behave, and one smile and twinkle in her eyes would fill them with love.

Growing up, Marie read encyclopedias and longed to see the world.  God answered her prayers by sending her Gerald.  Marie was united in marriage to her loving husband Gerald Miller, in July 1974, in Alamogordo, New Mexico, and joyfully followed him for 22 years in the United States Air Force.  She enjoyed traveling in the Air Force, especially two tours in Hawaii and one in Europe.  She was active in chapel visitations to people in the hospital and active in bible studies wherever she was living.

Marie is survived by her husband of 51 years Gerald Miller, daughter Lisa (Jack) Jones, sister Tina (David) Pacheco, brother Michael Strand, mother-in-law Adeline Miller, brothers-in-law Larry (Monica) Miller, John (Kathy) Miller, Lou (Cheryl) Miller, sister-in-law Shirley (Roger) Woodard, and numerous nieces and nephews.

Marie was preceded in death by her parents, sisters Margaret Strand and Barbara Cohn, father-in-law Roscoe Miller and sister-in-law Marilyn Fritchley.

Marie’s favorite Bible verse: “He will keep in perfect peace all those who trust in Him” Isaiah 26:3
