Loren William Croft “Uncle Fuzz”, age 68, of Greenup, Illinois, passed away at 7:25 AM – Saturday, September 27, 2025, at the Willow Breeze Hospice House in Mattoon, Illinois.
A visitation for family and friends will be held from 2:00 to 4:00 PM – Saturday, December 20, 2025, at the Meyer Funeral Home – Bishop Chapel in Greenup, Illinois, with a service to follow with Mark White officiating. Following the service, everyone is cordially invited to continue the celebration of Loren’s life at Greenup VFW. The obituary can be viewed and condolences left at www.meyerfh.com.
Loren was born on June 26, 1957, in Mattoon, Illinois, the son of Eugene George and Edith Alberta (Cox) Croft. He married Denise Weber on November 19, 1999, in Effingham, Illinois, and she survives. Loren graduated from Newton Community High School with the Class of 1975. He worked as a welder for many years and retired from Nucor Skyline Steel in Newton, Illinois. Loren enjoyed farming, finding a bargain and loved classic rock music.
Loren is survived by: Wife – Denise Croft of Greenup, Illinois; Nephew – Josh (Ashley) Croft of Wasilla, Alaska; Great Nieces – Zoey Croft, Ayla Croft, and Emily Croft; Sister-in-law – Virginia Croft of Danville, Illinois and Judy Varner of Waskom, Texas; Brother-in-law – Steve (Cathy) White – Johnson City, Tennessee; Several nieces and nephews also survive.
Loren was preceded in death by his parents and brothers Leon Eugene Croft and George Thomas Croft and nephews Jason Croft and Justin Croft.
