Delores Jean (White) Lucas, 90, of Tarpon Springs, FL, passed away on Friday, October 24, 2025 at Sunshine Christian Homes in Holiday, FL.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, November 8, 2025 at Johnson Funeral Home in Effingham, IL. Burial will be in Watson Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. on Friday, November 7, 2025 at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers and gifts, memorials may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital. Delores was born on March 2, 1935, in Effingham, IL, the daughter of Chester and Anna (Williams) White. She married Carl F. Lucas on November 24, 1956, and he preceded her in death on November 9, 2018. Delores was loved by all. Her hobbies included gardening, cooking, reading, visiting family and church service. She was the head chef at Unity High School for many years. She will be missed.
Delores is survived by her son, Rodney (Elizabeth) Lucas of Tarpon Springs, FL; granddaughter, Anne (Patrick) Mitton; great-grandchild, Lucas Mitton; sister, Una (Doc) Tish; nephew, Jack Hart; and many nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; and siblings, Thelma Fuller, Gerald White, Mildred Osman, Everett White, Mary Landreth, Melvin White, Ruth White, and Ronald White.
