Richard Ralph “Dick” Stremming, 84, of Strasburg, IL, passed away at 11:49 a.m. on Saturday, October 25, 2025, in HSHS St. John’s Hospital, Springfield, IL.

Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, October 29, 2025, in St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, Strasburg, IL, with Rev. Kene Whybrew officiating. Visitation will be from 5:00-7:00 p.m. Tuesday, October 28, 2025, in Howe and Yockey Funeral Home, Strasburg, IL, and from 9:15 – 10:00 a.m. Wednesday in the church. Burial will be in St. Paul Cemetery, Strasburg, IL. Arrangements are by Howe and Yockey Funeral Home, Strasburg, IL. Memorials may be given to St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Strasburg or Trinity Lutheran School in Stewardson.

Richard was born on April 30, 1941, in Strasburg, IL, the son of Gilbert Henry Fred and Alma Lucille (Huffmaster) Stremming. He graduated from Stewardson-Strasburg High School in the Class of 1959. He married Cathern Alice “Cathy” Walls on January 6, 1962. Richard owned and operated Custom Cupboards in Stewardson, IL until his retirement. Richard loved spending time on his farm, Stremming Walnut Hills Farm, where he raised and sold Belted Galloway Scottish beef cattle. He was a member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church and Prairie Heritage Tractor Club both in
Strasburg, IL and the Belted Galloway Association.

He is survived by his wife, Cathy; three children, Tina Daniels (Larry Kuhns), Bradley Stremming (Kimberly), and Crystal Stewart (Mark Kaufman) all of Strasburg, IL; brother, Gaylord Stremming (Dixie) of Strasburg, IL; brother-in-law, Wayne Reel of Mattoon, IL; grandchildren, Nathan Stremming (Paige), Tori Daniels, Mitchell Stewart (Kenzie), Luke Daniels (Jill) and Brayden Stremming (Allie); and great grandchildren, Noah Stewart, Leeland Stewart, and Corbin, Vera and Nyla Stremming.

He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Kenneth Stremming (Wilma), Keith Stremming (Carolyn), and infant twin brothers, Kermit and Kerwin Stremming; and sisters, Mary Biehler (LeRoy) and Laveta Reel.
