Mildred L. Wolf (95) of Altamont

Mildred Louise Wolf departed this earthly life and entered into eternal glory to be with her Savior Jesus Christ on September 30, 2025 at the age of ninety-five years, ten months and nineteen days.

The visitation will be at Gieseking Funeral Home on Friday, October 3, 2025 from 5-7 p.m. The Reverend Marcus Manley will officiate the funeral service at Bethlehem Evangelical Lutheran Church beginning at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday with visitation one hour prior and committal will follow in the church cemetery. Memorials may be made to Bethlehem Lutheran Church, Lutheran Care Center, or the donor’s choice.

Mildred was born November 11, 1929 on the family farm in the Bethlehem Community into the Christian family of Lydia (Braasch) and John Kroening.

She received the sacrament of Holy Baptism on November 17, 1929 by Pastor M. W. Pott. Her baptismal sponsors were: George Kroening, Emilie Braasch, and Louise Braasch. She confirmed her faith by the rite of Confirmation on Palm Sunday, April 18, 1943 by Pastor F. L. Mahnken. Her confirmation verse was Isaiah 54:10. She remained faithful to her confirmation vows until death. In her early years, she played the organ at Bethlehem Lutheran Church. She sang in the Bethlehem Choir for many years. She was a lifetime member of Bethlehem Lutheran Church, and at the time of her death was its oldest member.

On December 30, 1951, she married Harold Louis Wolf in Bethlehem Lutheran Church with Rev. E. G. Riedel officiating. Harold and Mildred were blessed by God with two daughters: Karen and Kim. Harold and Mildred were married for almost 69 years.

Her earthly remains will be at rest in the Bethlehem Cemetery awaiting the sure and certain resurrection when Jesus Christ returns on the Last Day. Firmly believing “in the resurrection of the dead and in the life of the world to come.” All Glory and Praise to God!

Mildred is survived by her daughters: Karen (Dean) Manuel of the Bethlehem community; Kim (Mike) Blievernicht of Newton; grandchildren, DeAnne (Sean) Yallaly of Rensselaer, Indiana; David (Lea) Manuel of Pleasant Plains, Illinois; Sharon (Eric) Schackmann of Newton, James Blievernicht of Teutopolis, great-grandchildren, John and Julia Yallaly, Delaina and Dawson Manuel, and twins, Brayden and Ashley Schackmann, Katie and Allison Schackmann, sister Helen Miller of Effingham, brother Gilbert (Jean) Kroening of Carbondale, Illinois; sister-in-law Doris Wolf of Clinton, Illinois. Eight nieces and four nephews also survive.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Harold Wolf, brother Louis Kroening; sisters-in-law Thelma Kroening, Mabel Wolf, Marcella Wolf, and Mary-Ellen Wolf, brother-in-law Glen Miller, A.J. Wolf, Rev. Erhard Wolf and Delbert Wolf; grandson, Ryan Blievernicht; great-grandchildren, Gabriel Yallaly, Ian, Madison and Jordan Schackmann. She will be greatly missed by her family and friends.
