Beulah Ruth Welch, 93, of Windsor, Illinois, passed away on Wednesday, August 20, 2025, at the Villas of Holly Brook in Shelbyville, Illinois.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Monday, August 25, 2025, at Lovins-Lockart Funeral Home in Windsor. Visitation will be from 11:00 a.m. until the time of service. Burial will take place in Sand Creek Cemetery in rural Windsor.
Beulah was born on November 29, 1931, in Windsor, the daughter of Floyd and Juanita Williamson. She graduated from Windsor High School in 1949 as Valedictorian of her class. Beulah married her high school sweetheart, Edwin “Bud” Welch on September 29, 1951, in Windsor, and they were blessed with 66 years of marriage before his passing on July 5, 2018. She worked many years as a secretary and retired from Electric Labs in Mattoon. Her most cherished time was spent with her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren, and was affectionately known as “Boo Boo” to many. Hosting Sunday dinners was one of her favorite things, and she was a wonderful cook. Her pies, fried pork chops, Chef Tell chicken, noodles, and mashed potatoes were loved by all. She loved to watch her grandchildren play ball, especially when it was at her house by the pond. She was loved by all who knew her and will be deeply missed.
Survivors include her children, Gail (Russell) Rincker, Libby (Darrell) Hilligoss, and Lee Welch, all of Windsor; grandchildren, Rory (Ashley) Rincker, Rusty (Heather) Rincker, Lindsey (Brett) Barnard, all of Windsor, Mitch (Jenna) Hilligoss of Mattoon, Jodie Edwards of Cowden, and Shain Prahl of Florida; 15 great-grandchildren; sister, Betsy (Gary) Stilabower of Windsor, and numerous nieces and nephews.
Beulah was preceded in death by her parents, husband “Bud” and sister, Louise Melchert.
