Ralph L. Bandelow, 87, of Decatur, formerly of Altamont, died at 2:30 a.m. Sunday, August 17, 2025 at HSHS St. Anthony’s Memorial Hospital, Effingham.
There will be no services at this time. Gieseking Funeral Home, Altamont is assisting the family with arrangements.
Ralph Leroy Bandelow was born on Sunday, May 22, 1938 in Altamont to Paul F. and Alma A. (Voelker) Bandelow. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army and a member of Castle-Williams American Legion Post # 105, Decatur. He was an independent OTR operator.
He is survived by: his son, Brian Bandelow of Mountain Home, AR; daughters, Vickie (Rodney) Caldwell of Clancy, MT, Sandra (Daniel) Weber of Bethany, Tracie (Kyle) Placher of Edwardsville and Marsha Bandelow of Decatur; sister, Eloise McGuire of Altamont; 10 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren.
Ralph was preceded in death: parents, brother, Marvin in infancy; brother-in-law, Calvin McGuire and daughter-in-law, Stephanie Bandelow.
