Brett D. Britton age 62 of Charleston, Illinois, formerly of Newton, passed away Saturday, August 2, 2025, at Carle Foundation Hospital, Urbana, Illinois.
Celebration of Life services will be held at 6:00 p.m., Friday, August 8, 2025, at the Crain Funeral Home, Newton, Illinois with Pastor Rick Britton officiating. Visitation for family and friends will be held from 3:00 p.m. Friday, August 8th until service time in the funeral home.
Brett was born on December 20, 1962 in Richland County, Illinois. He was the son of Beryl “Bake” and Yvonne (Dow) Britton. Brett married Brenda Cobble on May 22, 2016. She survives. Brett worked for Rush Truck Centers in Effingham, Illinois, as an aftermarket sales representative.
Brett enjoyed spending his free time Jeepin’ and playing his guitar. He loved to gather with family and his many friends to play music. In earlier years, he was an avid duck and coon hunter.
Brett will be loved and remembered by his wife Brenda Britton of Charleston, IL; daughter Kaycee Britton of Toledo, IL; step-daughters, Stacie (Dustin) King of Charleston, IL, Jodie (Ron) Lee of Kansas, IL and Leslie Lang of Hillsboro, IN; step-grandchildren Bailey Heddins, Blake (Isabella) Lee, Kinzer Lee, Kahle Lee, Kruz Lee, Langdon King and Georgia Barker; and two step great grandchildren, Carson and Tucker Heddins; and two step-sisters, Vickie Fuson of Flora, IL and Barbara Britton of Catlin, IL.
He was preceded in death by his parents; son Cody Lee Britton; half-brother, Terry Brothers; step-brother, Robert Britton; and step-sisters Elaine Jackson and Judy Colclasure.
