Lana M. Sefton, 81, of Brownstown, died at 1:37 p.m., Saturday, August 2, 2025 at her home surrounded by her family.
Funeral services will be at 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, August 6, 2025 at Liberty Christian Church, rural Brownstown with Clayton Richison officiating. Burial will follow at Liberty Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5-8 p.m. Tuesday, August 5, 2025 at the church and one hour prior to service time. Memorials may be made to Liberty Cemetery or the donor’s choice. Gieseking Funeral Home, Brownstown is assisting the family with funeral arrangements.
Lana Maxine Sefton was born on Monday, February 7, 1944 in Decatur, IL to Clifford Samuel and Iva Belle (Haslett) Kirby. She married Lowell Sefton on June 14, 1963 in St. Elmo, IL. In addition to raising her family, she was a cook for the Brownstown School District. She was a member of Liberty Christian Church, Brownstown.
She is survived by: her husband of over 62 years, Lowell Sefton of Brownstown; son, Kirby (Sherry) Sefton of Brownstown; daughters, Kim (Gary) Sapp of St. Elmo, Kelly (Barry) Miller of Brownstown, Katrina (Scott) Wollerman of Ramsey, and Kara (Darin) Dugan of Vandalia; brother, Sam (Sherry) Kirby of St. Elmo; sisters, Jean (Lyle) Locke of Pana, Janet Ireland of Beecher City, and Lois Brozio of Decatur; grandchildren, Taylor (Caleb) Cloe, Josh Sapp, Lindsey (Dustin) Riddle, Paige (Jeff) Garrison, Zack (Kristina) Miller, Paityn (Colton) Draege, Lukas Miller, Rylee (Sean) Newcomb, Tawni (Don) Willis, Nicolette (Dan) Rikli, Carl Sefton, Shane Sefton, Evyn Barker, and Lauren (Tommy) Luttrell; 24 great grandchildren.
Lana was preceded in death by: her parents, brother, Noble Wayne Kirby and brother-in-law, Gene Ireland and grandson, Taylor Wollerman.
