Dallas Fairley, 88, of Altamont died at 2:44 p.m., Saturday, July 26, 2025 at Lutheran Care Center, Altamont.

Funeral services will be at 5:00 p.m., Thursday, July 31, 2025 at Lutheran Care Center Chapel, Altamont, with Jason Williams officiating. Visitation will be from 3:00 p.m. until service time. Private family burial will be held at a later date. Memorials may be made to Lutheran Care Center, American Legion Post #512, The Whoo-Hoo Sisterhood, or the donor’s choice. Gieseking Funeral Home, Altamont is assisting the family with arrangements.

Dallas Charles Fairley was born on Monday, March 1, 1937 in Cedar Rapids, Iowa to Frank Smith and Jesse Caroline (Davis) Fairley. He married JoAnn Timms on June 9, 1956 in Marion, Iowa. She preceded him in death on January 21, 2019.  He was retired from Exxon Corp. He served in the U.S. Navy Reserve. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church, Altamont. He was a member of the Mixmasters Bridge Club, Lions Club, Exxon Annuitants, was an Exxon Federation Representative, was formerly the Superintendent of the City of Altamont Electric Department and was a member of American Legion Post #512.

He is survived by: his daughters, Deborah Ann (Gerald) Schoenhoff of Brownstown and Kathryn Jo (David) Ruff of Altamont; grandchildren, Justin (Earle) Wagemann, Adam Mette, Mitchell (Cody) Ruff, Brianna Schoenhoff, Dylan Keller, Angelisa Schoenhoff, and Bethany Schoenhoff; great grandchildren, Kyleigh Brown, Abby Mette, Bostyn Mette, Lily Schoenhoff, and Niarah Dallas Johnson.

Dallas was preceded in death by: his parents, wife, two children at birth, son, Robert Charles Fairley and daughter, Brenda Christine Fairley; brother Jack (Lucille) Fairley and sister, Virginia Lea (Robert) Lary.
