Edwin E. Cole 82, of Neoga, Illinois passed away at 11:17 AM Monday June 30, 2025 in his residence surrounded by family.
He was born April 22, 1943 in Decatur, Illinois the son of Clifton and Pauline (Hughes) Cole. He served in the Illinois National Guard. Edwin married Donna Heady March 26, 1967 in Louisville, Illinois. He was a Plant Manager for Farm Service in Humboldt, Illinois, a member of the St. John’s Lutheran Church in Mattoon, Illinois and former Chief of the Humboldt Fire Department in Humboldt, Illinois. Edwin loved Harley Motorcycles, tractors, living at Lake Mattoon (so he didn’t have to go on vacations) and especially spending time with family and friends.
He is survived by his wife, Donna Cole of Neoga, Illinois; daughters, Lisa McDowell (Dan) of Mattoon, Illinois, Jennifer Ferrar (Scott) Mattoon, Illinois and Rachel Rappe (Marty) of Sullivan, Illinois; six grandchildren, Garrett McDowell (Timothy Wallace), Tucker Rappe (fiancé Rylee Phillips), A.J. Rappe, Spencer Ferrar (fiancé Abbie Bonnstetter), Sam Ferrar and Lucy Ferrar; siblings, Dean Cole (Marvelle), Karen Whitley (Randy) and Ronnie Cole (Susan); and several nieces and nephews.
Mr. Cole was preceded in death by his parents.
Memorials are suggested to the Carle Hospice, 501 South West Street Olney, IL 62450.
As per his wishes cremation rites will be accorded and a Open House/Life Celebration will be held Saturday July 12, 2025 in the Neoga American Legion in Neoga, Illinois from 4:00 PM until 7:00 PM.
