Thomas L. Esker, 85, of Brooksville, FL, formerly of Effingham and Danville, passed away on Saturday, June 21, 2025.

He was born on May 3, 1940 in Effingham, the son of Leroy and Clara (Meyer) Esker. He married Kim Franzinger on April 19, 1975. He graduated from St. Anthony High School in 1958 and then Eastern Illinois University with a degree in accounting. Tom retired after 30+ years of working for the Illinois Department of Revenue. He enjoyed traveling, golfing, and coin collecting.

Tom is survived by Kim, his wife of 50 years…siblings, Sharon (friend Charles) Esker of San Francisco, Janet Pagel of Heartville, Terry (Gail) Esker of Effingham and sister-in-law Kerry (Bill) Son. He is also survived by his nephews Doug Pagel, Bryan Pagel, Guy Pagel, Ben Esker, Blake Esker, Billy Son, Kurt Son; niece Nataliya Son; and several great nephews and great nieces.

Tom was preceded in death by his parents; brothers-in-law Floyd Pagel and Captain Kurt Franzinger Jr. and nephew Kurt Franzinger III.

At the family’s request, there will be no services.
