Gertrude E. Heiden, 95, of Altamont, died at 2:50 p.m. Wednesday, June 11, 2025 at Lutheran Care Center, Altamont.
Funeral services will be at 4:00 p.m. Tuesday, June 17, 2025 at Immanuel Lutheran Church, Altamont with Rev. Scott Niermann and Rev. Gary Fortkamp officiating. Burial will follow at Immanuel Lutheran Church Cemetery, Altamont. Visitation will be from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. Monday, June 16th at the church. Memorials may be made to Immanuel Lutheran Church, Lutheran Care Center or the donor’s choice.
Gertrude was born on Thursday, November 28, 1929 in rural Altamont to Wilbert E. and Clara (Kroening) Milleville. She married Harry Samuel Heiden on June 19, 1949 and he preceded her in death. She was a homemaker and was employed at the Altamont News. Gertrude was a life-long member of Immanuel Lutheran Church where she was a member of the Ladies Aid and the choir.
She is survived by: her son, David (Betty) Heiden of Altamont; daughters, Diane (Dale) Wetherell of Stewardson, Jan (Frank Scotello) Heiden of Henderson, Nevada, and Judy (Dennis) Morrison of Indianapolis; sister, Gladys (Lawrence) Kopplin of Altamont; 6 grandchildren, David (Laura) Wetherell, Zach (Brittney) Wetherell, Tim Payne, Josh (Haley) Payne, Kristin (Brad) Heiden-Nott and Annika Morrison.
Gertrude was preceded in death by: her parents, husband and brother, Marlin (Alice) Milleville.
