Juanita Jeanne Sigrist, age 89, of Farina, Illinois, passed away on Sunday, June 1, 2025 at HSHS St. Anthony’s Memorial Hospital in Effingham, Illinois.
Graveside service will be at 11:00 AM on Friday, June 6, 2025 at Farina Cemetery in Farina, Illinois and interment will follow. Mark White will be presiding. In lieu of flowers, memorials may go to donor’s choice. Online condolences may be expressed at www.pagelfuneralhome.com.
Juanita was born on September 13, 1935 in Vandalia, Illinois to Arthur Ethridge and Faye B. Henager. She was adopted at age 15 by her step-father, Avon Robertson. She married Albert Sigrist on October 27,1950 in Alcorn County, Mississippi. Juanita loved being outside and working in her yard, as well as sewing and crocheting. She also had a passion for traveling and really enjoyed adventuring out west. She was also an enthusiastic gambler and loved playing the slot machines.
Juanita is survived by her son, Rick Sigrist (Mary Ann) of Mason, Illinois; daughters, Debra Jedamski of Broken Arrow, Oklahoma, Carol Sigrist of Highland, Illinois, and Gloria Frutiger of Vandalia, Illinois; brother, Fred Ethridge of Orangeville, Illinois; sisters, Doris Wales of Dakota, Illinois, and Donna Thruman of Freeport, Illinois; as well as grandchildren Jeremi Martin, Jason Jedamski, Kaleb Sigrist (fiancé Jessica Schaefer), Chris Reagan, Dusty Reagan, and Casey Sigrist; and 9 great-grandchildren, as well as her long time friend, Betty Nelson.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Albert Sigrist; parents, Arthur Ethridge and Faye Henager; step-father, Avon Robertson; grandchildren, Paul Reagan and Austin Frutiger; great-grandchild, Dilyn Reagan; son-in-laws, William Jedamski and Daniel Frutiger; brother, David Ethridge; and sister, Ruth Collalti.
