Leo K. Kruenegel, 85, of Altamont, died at 8:02 a.m. Saturday, May, 31, 2025 at HSHS St. Anthony’s Memorial Hospital, Effingham.
Private family burial will be at a later date. Gieseking Funeral Home, Altamont is assisting the family with arrangements. Memorials may be given to the Alzheimer’s Research or Altamont Christian Church.
Leo was born on Saturday, December 16, 1939 in St. Peter to E.H. and Alvina (Torbeck) Kruenegel. He married Katheryn Loy on September 17, 1961. He was a member of Altamont Christian Church and was a retired art director at Quad Graphics, Effingham.
He is survived by; his wife of over 63 years, Katheryn, Altamont; sons, Kenneth David (Phyllis) Kruenegel, Altamont and Kirk Todd (Renee) Kruenegel, Highland, IL; daughter, Kimberly Ann (Christer) Stenstrom, Webster, MN; 8 grandchildren; and several great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by; his parents; and brothers, Floyd and Earl Kruenegel.
