David Randolph Camp, 64, formerly of Altamont, Illinois and currently of Frankfort Square, Illinois, passed away on April 19th, 2025 at 12:46 after a ten day battle with aggressive pancreatitis. He left peacefully after seeing someone calling him away according to a nurse on duty and was quickly surrounded by family.

He was born on September 24th, 1960, to Fred Glenn and Donna Lee Camp (née Cheshier) as the fourth of five siblings. As a child, he loved playing on his bike and searching for treasure. He graduated from Altamont High School in the class of 1978.

As a young adult in the late ‘70s-‘90s, David moved into the growing Internet/information technology industry, becoming a Computer Room Technician with TSI Graphics. He spent his free time plugging quarters into new arcade games such as Donkey Kong and Galaga and riding his Kawasaki motorcycle.

On August 27th, 1983 he married Kay Dalene Camp (née Grubb), who was his constant companion and life partner for over 42 years. He loved her dearly, and the couple would go on to have three children: Spenser, their forever angel Jackson, and Griffin.

Working at TSI Graphics he became known among his coworkers as the friendly company jokester. David held several positions in IT management over the years. His ongoing rise in the IT industry would see him move from Altamont to Frankfort Square, Illinois, where he and Kay made friends with many new coworkers and neighbors. At the time of his passing he was employed with Agrati as the Information Technology Manager for their Park Forest location.

David had an appreciation for classic rock such as Warren Zevon, Norman Greenbaum, and numerous others and was also a recreational firearms enthusiast. He spent his days reading, especially non-fiction titles about history, and tinkering with munitions and technology (such as computers and retro media players). David also prioritized quality time with his wife and keeping up with family and friends, including his close friends of many decades CJ and Cindy Rogger.
David was a lifelong Christian who prayed nightly. As a registered organ donor, his extracted tissues have been designated for the medical assistance of over 70 people. He also contributed to many charitable causes including the Ronald McDonald House Charities, Shriners Hospitals for Children, the Mozilla Foundation, and numerous programs for veterans.

He was preceded in death by his parents, infant son Jackson, and sister Kathy Boone.

He is survived by his wife Kay, sons Spenser (wife Molly and their son Cooper) and Griffin, brothers Tim (Nancy) and Mark (Lori) Camp, sisters Cindy (Brian) Blome and Becky (David) Rippetoe, and brother-in-law Daniel Grubb and his wife Lisa Grubb-Howe. His many (grand)nieces and (grand)nephews will also fondly remember their Uncle Dave as he regarded them as well.

David’s celebration of life will be held on Saturday, May 31st at MBI Construction (family venue), located at 10225 E State Highway 33, Effingham, Illinois 62401. Services will start at 3:00 PM, but the doors will open at 2:15 PM for mingling. Food will be served at the conclusion of services. All who love David are invited to attend the service and eat and fellowship with the family afterward. To honor David’s memory, donations can be made to Ronald McDonald House Charities at the following Web address: https://give.rmhc.org/davecamp2025
