Jacob “Jake” Niebrugge will be discussed by the Effingham City Council to fill a vacancy on the Council at their meeting Tuesday night.

Niebrugge’s appointment is an item for discussion, but is not scheduled on the agenda for a vote.

Niebrugge would fill a vacancy due to the resignation of Commissioner Merv Gillenwater. Gillenwater’s resignation due to retirement from the Council was effective as of the end of April.

Six individuals submitted letters of interest in succeeding Gillenwater. Along with Niebrugge, those include Jim Niemann, Kevin Palmer, Ryan Gebben, Tiffany Toney and Trent Hartke.
