Longtime State Representative and Department of Agriculture Director Chuck Hartke was honored by the Illinois General Assembly in Springfield Thursday.
A resolution introduced by State Representative Jay Hoffman of Highland recognized Hartke for his 18 years’ service in the Illinois House and his tenure as Agriculture Director from 2003 to 2008.
Hartke’s son, Chris, and daughter Kim Deters and her husband Pat were present for the ceremony, along with Hartke’s brother, Phil and his wife Carol, Hartke’s sister, Patricia Posten and her son, Jeff, and Hartke’s fiancee Brenda Holmes.
