South Central school board members chose Jeremy Chasteen as board chairman. Rob Jones was chosen vice-chairman, and Danny Heistand was chosen secretary.

The Board reorganized following the April 1 election. Chasteen was seated along with Louis Daugherty, Jr., Lindsey Norman and Derek Storck.

Mike Vandeveer, Jason Markby and Erin Engel have departed the Board.

The Board also agreed to work with churches within the South Central district to begin offering the LifeWise program. The program will be offered for a half-hour one day a week for first, second and third graders. The churches will cover the entire cost of the program.

South Central Elementary School Principal Sara Rose says parents will have to approve participation by their children.

In personnel action, the South Central board hired Courtney Daugherty as middle school Business and Computer teacher, Hailey Jones and Dawn Snow as Elementary teachers, and Branden Wright as high school Athletic Director. The Board accepted the resignation of Kendall Burleyson as high school assistant volleyball coach, the retirement of elementary teacher Gena Wilkins at the end of the 2028-2029 school year, and the resignation of Gary Payne as volunteer bass fishing coach.
