Statewide, the average temperature was 59.6 degrees, 3.8 degrees above normal. Precipitation averaged 1.10 inches, 0.26 inches above normal.

Topsoil moisture supply was rated 1 percent very short, 10 percent short, 66 percent adequate, and 23 percent surplus. Subsoil moisture supply was rated 2 percent very short, 14 percent short, 66 percent adequate, and 18 percent surplus.

Corn planted reached 16 percent, compared to the 5-year average of 26 percent. Corn emerged reached 2 percent, compared to the 5-year average of 3 percent.

Soybeans planted reached 22 percent, compared to the 5-year average of 20 percent. Soybeans emerged reached 4 percent, compared to the 5-year average of 2 percent.
