Those interested in filling a vacancy on the Effingham City Council have until 3pm today to submit a letter of interest.
Here’s what to include in the letter:
–your full name
–physical and mailing address
–your personal qualifications to serve as Commissioner
–your knowledge of Effingham
–why you’re interested in serving as a Commissioner
–proof that you’ve been a qualified voter of Effingham for at least one year prior to appointment
You can submit a letter by e-mail to City Administrator Steven W. Miller at smiller@effinghamil.com. For more information, phone City Hall at 217-342-5300, extension 5314.
Whoever is appointed by the remaining Council members will serve the final two years of Commissioner Merv Gillenwater’s term. Gillenwater’s retirement is effective today.
