Upheaval in Stewardson after the mayor, a commissioner, and the police chief resigned their positions at Monday’s board meeting.

Village Commissioner Paul Antrim, a former mayor of Stewardson, resigned his position. The sitting mayor, Gene Lankow, proposed a successor to fill the vacancy, but his proposal was voted down. That led Lankow to resign.

Police Chief Mitch Growe then resigned his position, giving two weeks’ notice.

One of the remaining trustees, Gary Easley, reportedly will preside over village business.
