(ALTAMONT SCHOOL BOARD PRESIDENT DALE LAUE AND NEW ALTAMONT SUPERINTENDENT AARON LOCK)
The Altamont Board of Education announces Aaron Lock as the new Superintendent of Schools and welcomes Aaron back to the district and community. He will take over the reins at Altamont Unit #10 from Casey Adam on July 1.
He was born and raised in Altamont and is looking forward to coming back to his roots. Aaron is currently the Principal at Charleston Unit #1 High School. He has served in the capacities of principal at Carl Sandburg Elementary, Athletic Director, Assistant Principal, taught and coached at Salem Franklin Park Middle School and was a Physical Education Teacher at Altamont. Aaron bring other extensive experiences and knowledge to the district as he has served on building/leadership councils, teacher negotiating teams and crisis management teams. His objective is to provide student-centered leadership as superintendent.
Aaron is married to Amanda (Wilhour) Lock and they have two children Lydia and Barrett.
A statement from the Altamont School Board shares that “we welcome them and look forward to having Aaron as our superintendent.”
