A local resident was arrested after a report of shots fired in Effingham Tuesday evening.

19-year-old Camden L. Evans of Effingham was arrested by Effingham City Police on counts of possession of a stolen firearm, reckless discharge of a firearm, aggravated unlawful possession of a weapon, and resisting or obstructing a peace officer.

Effingham Police Chief Kurt Davis said at Tuesday’s City Council meeting that no one was injured in the incident. The shots were reportedly fired in a wooded area behind Eiche Avenue.

Evans was still in custody this morning.
