Effingham County 911 board members Wednesday renewed a Dieterich Bank CD for $255,277.46 for 12 months at 3.8% APY. The Board also added $250,000 from a money market account to the CD.
Board members also heard that the Rapid Warn system has been installed and successfully set off the Dieterich tornado sirens during the tornado warning this past Sunday.
Motorola and MCA, the former BeckTech, are still working on getting the connection between the 911 radio consoles and the sirens restored. At present, dispatchers are unable to set off the tornado sirens from the Motorola radio consoles. System Administrator Tina Daniels will contact Global Technical Systems and MCA to be on the April 911 agenda to answer questions regarding the RapidWarn system. The RapidWarn system is currently working as it should; the question is the redundancy options using the consoles as backup.
