Cumberland school board members began their February meeting with a special salute to late Cumberland graduate and educator Marjorie Jackson.

She was actually a triple threat for Cumberland…not only a student and teacher, but also a Cumberland school board member after her retirement.

Recognition was also given George Hensley, who retired after 29 years of service as a custodian and Director of Maintenance.

Board members approved the fiscal year audit, approved the 26-27 school calendar, okayed the summer maintenance plan, and accepted a No Cost Needs Assessment.

The Board employed Adam Stults as a high school assistant baseball coach, approved Bryan Russell as a high school volunteer baseball coach, approved Russell Thomas as a middle school track and field volunteer coach, accepted the resignation of 2nd grade teacher Jolene Smith as of the end of the school year, and posted two summer maintenance positions.
