Sarah Stephen announced her upcoming retirement as Altamont City Clerk at Monday’s Council meeting.
Stephen began work for the City of Altamont in April of 2000, and was appointed City Clerk in May of 2003. She promised a minimum of a year’s training of her successor. Applications are now being accepted.
Also Monday, Council members discussed an ordinance regulating mobile food service establishments. The matter will be referred to City Clerk Tracy Willenborg before any action is taken.
The Council approved a Roadside Fundraiser for American Legion Post #512 for Poppy Day on April 17. April 24 will be the rain date. Also approved was the purchase of a mixer for the water tower for a price not to exceed $12,000.
