Teutopolis village board members Wednesday voted to appoint Rachel Collins a new village trustee.
Collins succeeds Bernard Hartke, who resigned his position.
The Board also approved pay increases for certain village employees, effective with the first payroll in May, the start of the new village fiscal year. The increases included a 10% pay raise for Village Clerk Amy Vahling; 4% pay hikes for Carl Pals, Bill Hardiek, John Loy, Jeff Bushue, Travis Monnet and Troy Davis; and a $9,600 annual salary for Village Treasurer Serena Buzzard.
Board members approved an agreement with PGAV Planners on a proposed TIF 3 redevelopment project area. The area is located on the west side of the village, south of the railroad tracks. Also approved was a resolution providing for a feasibility study on the development of the new TIF district.
The Board approved a Vandevanter Engineering proposal of $38,130 to install alarms at all five sewer lift station locations; awarded box culvert bids on John Street to Effingham Asphalt for $124,243.50; approved a quote from Coe Equipment to purchase a camera to view sewers and storm sewers; and will seek quotes on electronic sign options from Double D Signs.
