On Saturday, January 24th, at 11:41pm, the Sigel Fire Department was paged to a structure fire in the Green Creek area.  The call was quickly upgraded to a full still due to fire conditions and extreme cold.  The temperature at the time of the call was 9° with a wind chill of -5°.  The structure had been used as a residence and is presumed to be uninhabitable.

Teutopolis, Shumway, Neoga, Watson, and Effingham Fire Departments, and Rural Med Ambulance were all on scene.  Montrose, Dieterich, and Greenup Departments provided station coverage.

The Sigel Fire Department thanks their neighboring departments for their assistance on the call.
