Former Rotarian Linda Hubbartt, Executive Director of the Effingham City–County Committee on Aging (ECCOA), recently spoke to Rotarians about the agency’s mission and services supporting older adults across the region.
ECCOA serves seniors in nine counties—Effingham, Fayette, Crawford, Jasper, Clay, Lawrence, Marion, Jefferson, and Richland—with offices in Effingham, Vandalia, Flora, Centralia, and Mt. Vernon. The organization’s Senior Activity Center is located in Effingham and serves as a central hub for engagement and support.
Despite her battle with cancer, Hubbartt shared her passion for serving the senior community and advocating for programs that help older adults remain independent in their own homes.
ECCOA offers a wide range of services including the Community Care Program, Ombudsman services, Senior Health Insurance Program (SHIP), emergency senior assistance, care coordination, and linkage to resources such as Meals on Wheels, caregiver support, housing assistance, and more.
Community members are encouraged to stay informed by subscribing to ECCOA’s newsletter at www.eccoa.org.
