A local man was arrested after an incident at HSHS St. Anthony’s Memorial Hospital on Friday.

56-year-old Timothy Phillips of Effingham was at the hospital and allegedly became combative. A city police officer who was attempting to intervene was reportedly battered by Phillips.

Phillips was arrested on a charge of aggravated battery on a peace officer. He was given a notice to appear in court, and was released.

The officer was not injured.
