Teutopolis village board members Wednesday decided to move ahead with a cast iron water line replacement project.
The Board received a $1 million grant that will cover a good portion of the $3 million project. Wednesday, the Board gave authorization to borrow funds from the Illinois EPA to cover much of the remaining expense. Board members also approved an amended agreement with Milano and Grunloh for engineering services on the project.
Board members approved a policy manual for the Teutopolis Police Department, but tabled an amendment to the solicitation ordinance and referred the matter to committee. The Board also approved an agreement with AquaTec for $5,165.09 for work on the aerators in the sewage treatment plant.
The Board established standards for the construction of utility facilities within the village; approved a license agreement between the Village and the Teutopolis Park District for the location of a storm warning siren on park district property. Board members also extended a TIF agreement with Ryan and Mary Spencer for Siegfried’s Restaurant until May 31, 2026.
There was brief discussion on Harvester Street repairs and an electronic monitoring for sewage lift stations, but both items will be revisited later.
