Total nonfarm payrolls in Illinois in September were nearly unchanged from August, down 2,200 jobs.
Job increases were seen in Trade, Transportation and Utilities; Information; Leisure and Hospitality; and Other Services.
Largest job decreases were seen in Private Education and Health Services; Government; and Financial Activities.
Compared to a year ago, total nonfarm payroll jobs increased by 24,400. The unemployment rate was 4.4% in September, unchanged from August.
