The Altamont City Council has filled a vacancy among its commissioners.
Zain Parker was chosen Monday night to serve as a Council member until May of 2027. Parker was chosen to replace Jason Rippetoe, who resigned due to job commitments.
Also Monday, the Altamont council approved an appropriations ordinance totaling $9,445,300, and approved a tax levy totaling $291,500.
The Council approved an addendum to an agreement to purchase 1 West Washington Avenue. Under the addendum, the City will cover all of the closing costs.
