Dieterich school board members Monday approved a facility improvement project with Veregy.

The project will include a new roof on a portion of the building, a solar array on the portion of the new roof, and tuckpointing. A covered canopy to connect the vocational shop and the gym lobby was tabled for additional information and planning.

Staff members of the Dieterich Diary, the new high school newsletter, were on hand to update the Board on rollout of the first newsletter. Students Xavier Fritts, Leah Galbraith, and Maddison Brown, along with teacher Stacey Zerrusen, highlighted the process from conception to completion. Also in attendance was Jacey Hays, the first Student of the Month. Jacey was highlighted in the newsletter for all of the good things she is doing at school and in the community.

The Board approved the fiscal year tax levy. Junior-Senior High Math teachers Hayley Pals and Megan Marks presented proposals for changes to the Math curriculum, programming and sequencing. The changes will be made effective for next school year.

Board members approved Jayne Oaks as a student teacher for Spring semester, and certified employee Nicole Lustig was granted a leave of absence on February 17-20.
