 Vehicle Strikes Catholic Charities Building

A vehicle ran into the Catholic Charities building Tuesday morning.

The incident occurred around 9:30am. Crews were able to remove the vehicle from the building. Effingham city police, Effingham firefighters and the Effingham Building Official all responded to the scene.

Damage is estimated at $60,000. No serious injuries were reported.

The office area of Catholic Charities is where the damage occurred. The damage will necessitate closing the building until some temporary repairs can be completed. Effingham Catholic Charities Office was closed the remainder of the day. The Second Hand Rose store was open. The office will reopen today regular hours.
