A Toledo man has been arrested on a series of sex offenses.
47-year-old James R. Waddell was arrested Monday by the Effingham County Sheriff’s Office on a charge of criminal sexual assault, a charge of aggravated criminal sexual abuse, and four counts of child pornography.
The Effingham County Sheriff’s Office was assisted in the initial investigation by the advocacy group SAFE (Sexual Assault and Family Emergencies), the Effingham City Police Department, the Mattoon Police Department, the Cumberland County Sheriff’s Office, and the Effingham County State’s Attorney.
Waddell was last in the custody of the Effingham County Jail, awaiting a pre-trial detention hearing.
