The City of Effingham and Effingham County have each officially declared Wednesday, October 15 as Support Your Local Chamber of Commerce Day.
City Mayor Mike Schutzbach and County Board Chairman Josh Douthit joined the Effingham County Chamber in recognizing the organization’s ongoing efforts to strengthen local business, encourage community growth, and create connections that support a strong and engaged economy.
For over a century, the Effingham County Chamber has served as the unified voice of business, advocating for policies and programs that promote economic development and community success. Through partnerships with city and county officials, local employers, and educational institutions, the Chamber continues to provide valuable resources, professional development opportunities, and events that help businesses move forward and succeed.
Supporting your local Chamber can take many forms. Businesses and residents are encouraged to become members or invite others to join, attend Chamber events to network and build relationships, sponsor programs that align with their values, and make a conscious effort to shop and do business locally. Community members can also show support by engaging with the Chamber on social media—liking, sharing, and celebrating local business accomplishments throughout the year.
“Chambers of Commerce play a vital role in keeping our communities strong,” said Katie Koester, President & CEO of the Effingham County Chamber. “We’re grateful to the City of Effingham and Effingham County for recognizing the importance of local business support and for standing with us as we continue to connect, advocate, and grow together.”
The Effingham County Chamber invites residents and businesses to show their support on October 15 — and every day — by choosing local, getting involved, and celebrating the organizations that make Effingham County a great place to live, work and play.
