Shelby County Board members acted on several transportation issues at this month’s meeting.

The Board approved an engineering agreement with Gonzalez Engineering for a railroad crossing in Clarksburg Township with the $25,500 cost coming from the state Commerce Commission. Three culverts will be replaced in Cold Spring and Dry Point Townships and the Village of Stewardson with the county paying half the cost of the projects. It was also agreed to place additional no parking signage on County Highway 2.

The Board retained the services of the State’s Attorney’s Appellate Prosecutor’s Service for $10,000 to assist with cases on appeal. It was voted to permit the number of sheriff’s deputies up to 14; it was agreed to transfer three parcels due to taxes due; and Bill Hubbartt was approved as a trustee of Findlay Fire Protection District, succeeding Tim Uphoff, who resigned.
