One person was killed when a vehicle crossed the centerline on Illinois Route 16 and collided with a semi.
Killed in the crash was 48-year-old Robert Braun, Jr. of Manhattan, Illinois. Braun’s eastbound vehicle crossed the centerline and struck the westbound semi. Shelby County Coroner Beth Debolt pronounced Braun dead at the scene.
The name of the driver of the semi was not released.
Debolt said the crash scene was about three miles west of the Illinois Routes 16/32 junction, north and west of Strasburg. The crash occurred at 8:03am Saturday. The crash scene was closed for some time.
