Jasper County Board members have finalized terms on a construction loan for a new Courthouse in Newton.
The primary funding for the project would be an Energy Transition Community Grant. The terms would require the County to pay for expenses upfront and then be reimbursed.
The Board voted to approve a 20-year payment schedule with Peoples State Bank of Newton.
Jasper board members also voted to move the Wade Township polling places from the New Beginnings Church along Route 130 in Newton to the Jasper Unit #1 offices on Clayton Avenue in Newton effective with the March 2026 general primary election.
